Cowberry

The first thing you need to do is sort through the berries, select the ripest ones, discard the spoiled and rotten ones.

Remove the stem, dry petals, and other debris from the berries, then rinse in cold water.

You need to boil water in a saucepan, put lingonberries in there and blanch for no more than three minutes, then put the berries in cold water. It is convenient to blanch lingonberries by pouring them into a colander and dipping them into boiling water for the required time.

The water in which the berries were blanched can be used to make syrup. Place the chilled berries and sugar into the water, mix everything and cook in one stage.

For the first 10 minutes you need to cook on high gas, stirring all the time, skimming off the foam. Afterwards, you need to reduce the heat and cook until done. In total, about 25 minutes should pass after boiling.

The finished lingonberry jam must be removed from the heat and left for at least 8 hours.

Then, transfer to prepared jars in a convenient container. Roll up the jars and put them in the pantry or cellar.

To prepare the preparation for the winter, take 1.5 kg of granulated sugar and 250 ml of water per 1 kg of lingonberries.

Five-minute lingonberry jam can be served as a side dish for meat dishes. At the same time, this is an excellent option for filling pies, pies, and pancakes.
