How to make orange jam in slices.
For jam we buy only thin-walled oranges. You only need to take 5 of them, but choose the largest fruits.
We will first cut it into transverse circles, and then cut them into four slices. When cutting, be sure to remove the seeds and leave the rind in place.
Place the resulting pieces of oranges in a wide bowl so that each layer of sliced citrus fruits is sprinkled with sugar. In total, 1.3-1.6 kg of sugar will be required - the amount depends on the sweetness of the citrus fruit.
Leave the oranges with sugar for 3 or 4 hours to release the juice. It may also happen that not enough juice comes out (fruits are different), then you can add up to 4 glasses of water.
Cook the jam for 2-2.5 hours, and then put it in jars and seal it hermetically.
