Five-minute homemade blueberry jam for the winter
It's hard to find a person who doesn't like blueberry jam. This delicacy is not only incredibly tasty and aromatic, but also very healthy. Blueberries remove radionuclides from the body, significantly improve vision, increase hemoglobin, strengthen the immune and nervous systems, fight symptoms of depression and improve mood. This is why blueberry extract is used in many pharmaceutical preparations.
The most favorable time for picking berries is June - July, when blueberries can be found in abundance in the forests. So, your trip to the cool summer forest is behind you and you have freshly picked fragrant blueberries in your basket.
Or you were lucky and bought a couple of kilograms at the market. Now is the time to think about how to preserve the berries for the winter. The best option, according to many housewives, is to make fragrant jam from these miracle berries. I propose to cook my proven recipe with step-by-step photos with me.
How to make blueberry jam in five minutes for the winter
We sort the berries and rinse them well under cold running water. For these purposes, you can use a regular colander.
Place the blueberries in an enamel bowl. This could be a basin or a large saucepan.
We fill the berries with regular sugar at a ratio of 1:1, i.e., for 1 kg of blueberries we take 1 kg of sugar.
Mix the berries with sugar with a wooden spoon and place on medium heat.
Stirring continuously, bring the mixture to a boil and carefully remove the resulting foam from the surface.
Boil for 3-5 minutes (but no more) and pour using a regular ladle into pre-prepared pasteurized half-liter jars.
Cover the blueberry jam with sterile metal lids for 5 minutes.
Turn it upside down and place it in a cool, dark place for several hours.
We put the finished product in the cellar or closet for storage until winter.
I wish everyone a pleasant and, most importantly, healthy tea party during the frosty winter season! 🙂
