Homemade viburnum and rowan berry jam is a tasty and healthy berry jam for the winter.
My two favorite autumn berries, viburnum and rowan, go well together and complement each other in taste. From these berries you can make an amazing fragrant homemade jam with a pleasant sourness and a slight piquant bitterness, and also rich in vitamins.
To prepare homemade preparations you need to take:
- one glass of berries (mix viburnum and rowan in equal quantities);
- two glasses of water;
- for one glass of prepared puree - 0.5 cups of sugar.
To start preparing the jam, select equal quantities of ripened and undamaged viburnum and rowan berries and wash them.
Then, the berries need to be boiled until soft, so that the water with which they are filled boils away by half.
Then, the softened berries need to be turned into a homogeneous puree. For this purpose, we will just grind them through a sieve.
Next, we need to add sugar to our mass of two types of berries, stir it and let our mixture boil to the desired thickness.
There is a little secret in this homemade recipe: the finished berry jam needs to be packaged in jars, which we then put in the oven (not too hot). Let it sit for a while until a crust forms on top of the jam, this way it will be stored better.
Such aromatic and healthy homemade berry jam can be an excellent filling for various baked goods, or it can simply be served for tea in the winter.
