To prepare candied fruits, you need to use fresh fruit as a basis. cooked physalis berry jam, prepared according to our recipe.

And so, in order to get candied fruits, our finished jam needs to be cooked for ten to fifteen minutes longer.

Next, carefully drain the syrup and place the berries on a sieve.

Then, select the whole, beautiful physalis fruits and arrange them evenly on a baking sheet or on a sheet of plywood and cover the berries on top with a sheet of thick paper. Baking parchment is suitable for this.

After this, to obtain candied fruits, the berries from the jam must be thoroughly dried. Drying our candied physalis can be done in two ways. One will be longer in time, and the second will be faster. Which one to use is up to you to choose.

  1. Leave the sheet with berries to dry at room temperature.
  2. Dry in the oven at a temperature of 35 to 40 degrees or in an electric dryer.

Ready-made candied physalis must be sprinkled with sugar before being packaged for storage. This homemade preparation of candied fruits is stored well in a closed cardboard box.
