Using this simple homemade recipe, you can prepare a very tasty and healthy delicacy from well-ripened autumn red rowan berries - delicious candied rowan berries. These sugared berries can be given even to small children.

Products for making candied fruits:

— red rowan (with branches) – 1 kg;

— granulated sugar – 1 kg;

- water - 3 glasses;

- citric acid - 3-4 grams.

To prepare our candied fruits, at the initial stage, you need to blanch rowan berries for 3-5 minutes in boiling water without tearing them off the branches and immediately give the berries a contrast shower by dousing them with cold water.

Then we fill our berries with syrup, which we first boil. Let them stand like this for 5-6 hours.

When the time is up, bring the syrup to a boil again and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.

Now we need to let our preparation brew again for 10-12 hours.

This procedure must be repeated three to four times.

Citric acid should be added to our preparation at the last stage, a few minutes before the recipe is ready.

Strain the finished berries through a colander, let the syrup drain thoroughly.

Then, to dry the candied fruits, we transfer the berries to baking sheets, boards, plates and so dry them until they are completely ready.

This rowan preparation can be stored in glass containers or boxes. For longer storage, you can fill candied fruit jars with syrup.

Before serving our delicacy to the table, roll the berries in powdered sugar or sugar.

Delicious candied rowan berries can be eaten instead of sweets, added to desserts and various types of homemade baked goods.
