Categories: Compotes

This homemade apple compote is easy to prepare. A simple recipe suitable for both beginners and experienced housewives. The recipe can be used as a basis for preparing a whole series of apple compotes with the addition of various red berries for flavor variety.

And this is how I cook apple compote for the winter. It should be noted that compote is cooked in batches.

Apples

To prepare, we will need: 3 liters of water, 1 kg of apples, 300-400 grams of sugar (the amount can be adjusted to taste), it is possible to add other fruits. For example: currants, cherries, raspberries or even lemon (literally a couple of slices). Added in small quantities, they diversify the taste of the finished drink.

We put the specified amount of water on the fire (the container should be a little larger so that you can place the fruit there). Sugar can be added immediately.

While the water is brought to a boil, wash the apples, peel them, and cut them into slices.

Add apples to the boiling water, and additional berries if you have them.

We wait until the water boils again, prepare the jars for seaming.

Boil the apples for no more than 10 minutes until the skin turns yellowish-golden.

Then carefully transfer the fruits into a jar, fill it with boiling water and immediately roll it up.

Turn it upside down. It will be better if you can cover it with a blanket.

To prepare the next portion, follow the same procedure.

When the pieces have cooled, move them to a cellar or pantry. One of the main conditions for storing homemade compotes is the absence of direct sunlight, and the temperature should be such that it does not exceed room temperature. You can use this homemade apple compote right away or the next day, but don’t forget that this is, after all, a preparation for the winter. Good luck, hostesses.
