Homemade tomato sauce with apples
This delicious homemade tomato sauce is a great alternative to store-bought ketchup. By making this preparation yourself, you can always adjust its taste yourself.

So, to stock up on fresh tomato sauce for the winter, prepare:
- tomatoes - 6 kg;
- apples - 5 pcs;
- hot pepper - 2 pcs (more is possible, if you like it spicy);
- ground black pepper - 2 teaspoons;
- salt - 4 tbsp. spoons;
- sunflower oil - 100 ml;
- sugar - 400 gr;
- vinegar 9% - 300 ml;
- 4 cloves of garlic.
How to make tomato sauce with apples
So, let's start cooking! Wash tomatoes, peppers, apples. Having removed all excess, cut the tomatoes into slices, circles - as convenient.
It is better to take enamel dishes. For example, a saucepan. We will cook delicious tomato sauce in it. We remove the seeds from the pepper and also cut it into pieces. Peel the apples and cut them quite finely. Add peppers and apples to the tomatoes.
Now, we need to chop all this fruit and vegetable mass. For this I use a blender. You can also use a meat grinder.
Next, put the resulting mixture on the stove and cook it over low heat for 2 hours. At the end of cooking - about 10 minutes add crushed garlic, sunflower oil, salt, pepper, sugar.Boil the sauce mixture for the remaining 10 minutes. Then, add vinegar and turn off the stove.
Let's take it sterilized jars and lids. Pour the resulting fresh tomato sauce into each jar. Close the lid and roll up.
I store this delicious tomato sauce with apples in the cellar, but you can also store it at room temperature. This sauce is perfect for pasta, buckwheat, rice, pizza or meat. You can add it to borscht and even make sandwiches using it!
