How to make Hrenovukha with honey at home.
Let's start with the most famous tincture called Khrenovukha. It is very simple to prepare, but it turns out zesty and very tasty. Buy a half-liter bottle of good vodka at the store. Buy fresh horseradish root at the market. Open the vodka and peel the root with a knife. Cut the root into long slices and place them directly into the bottle. For half a liter of vodka you will need from 12 to 15 grams of horseradish. If you do not have an accurate kitchen scale, then add enough root so that the liquid in the bottle rises to the very top. To soften the pungent horseradish taste, add one teaspoon of liquid honey to the vodka. Pour it very carefully directly into the bottle. Close the container with the cap removed from it and shake the contents thoroughly.Take the drink with horseradish and honey to a dark pantry and let it brew for at least a week.
How to cook Horseradish with ginger.
The second recipe, which our ancestors loved very much, is called “Ginger Horseradish”. It also requires a bottle of a high-quality store-bought drink and fresh ginger and horseradish roots in a 50 to 50 ratio. Today, spicy ginger can be bought at any market or large hypermarket. Peel the roots from the dark skin and cut into pieces. Dip them into the vodka until the vodka rises to the very edge of the bottle - this will be approximately 15 grams by weight. Horseradish with ginger, too, is infused for one week and always in a dark place.
Horseradish garlic
And the third, also quite popular recipe, but intended for the amateur - “Garlic horseradish”. For it, take peeled garlic cloves and horseradish roots, cut them lengthwise into two parts. The proportions are the same: 50 to 50. Place them, too, in a bottle of vodka - the quantity, also, control the level of rising liquid in the bottle. By weight, approximately 10-12 grams will fit into the bottle. Send the vodka with the aromatic ingredients dipped into it to infuse for a week in a cool, dark place.
Try any prepared drink, “Hrenovukha with honey”, “Hrenovukha with ginger” and “Hrenovukha with garlic” before serving to guests. If the intoxicating contents of the bottle are too pungent in taste and smell for your taste, then dilute the drink with a small amount of pure vodka. If you think that the vodka is not as strong as you expected, then add more horseradish, ginger or garlic to it and infuse it again for seven days.
