The recipe below is calculated as follows: 3 kg of blueberries, 3 cups of cranberries (can be replaced with red currants), 3.9 kg of sugar. Using cranberry juice in the recipe enriches the taste of the product.
Making blueberry jam
The cranberries are mashed with a wooden masher or crushed with a mixer. The resulting mass is brought to a boil over heat, then squeezed through a gauze cloth. Sugar is added to the squeezed juice and the syrup is boiled. Add blueberries to the boiling syrup and continue cooking for 40 minutes. During cooking, stir the mixture constantly, trying to rub the uncooked berries against the walls of the dish. Place the finished jam into jars, which must be left open until it cools completely and a protective film forms. Then close with a nylon lid. Store in a dark place.
