Healthy ginger jam with lemon: a recipe for vitamin-rich ginger jam for the winter

Categories: Jams

Ginger jam is often prepared to boost immunity during the winter. As an independent delicacy, ginger is not very popular because of its too strong, specific taste. Unless you show some imagination and interrupt this harsh taste with something else, sharper, but pleasant.

Citrus fruits go well with ginger. Orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit are all great additions to ginger jam.

With these ingredients, you can even eat ginger jam from a jar with a spoon, or serve it with pancakes.

To make ginger jam we will need:

  • 250 grams of ginger root;
  • 2 lemons;
  • 4 glasses of water;
  • 4 cups sugar.

Wash and peel the ginger root. Grate it on a fine grater. Or cut into pieces and grind in a blender. This is not important in this case.

Wash the lemons and grate the zest from them. Separately, squeeze the juice from the lemon.

Make syrup from water and sugar.

When the sugar is completely dissolved, add grated ginger, lemon zest and lemon juice to the syrup.

Ginger jam cooks very quickly.

After just 20 minutes, it can be poured into prepared jars and sent to the pantry for storage until winter.
