How to pickle cucumbers with honey for the winter
First, all the cucumbers need to be placed in a large bowl or boiler and poured into cold water for four hours. Pour water so that the cucumbers are completely covered.
While soaking the cucumbers, we need to wash and dry the jars. Then, wash the horseradish leaves, cherry leaves, dill umbrellas and hot peppers.
Place the spices in jars according to the recipe.
After soaking, the cucumbers should be thoroughly washed with your hands to remove soil dirt and placed in jars. Try to place larger cucumbers at the bottom of the jar, and start placing smaller cucumbers somewhere in the middle of the jar.
You can set the water to boil.As soon as it boils, fill the jar with cucumbers to the top with boiling water and leave for ten minutes.
In the meantime, we can peel and chop the garlic into small slices; we will add it to the cucumbers at the last stage.
We need to pour the water from the cucumbers back into the pan and put it to boil.
I’ll explain why I use the same water for re-filling the cucumbers, and then for rolling them. It’s simple, the spices at the bottom of the jar release their aroma into the water, and so that it is not lost, we do not change the water. And so, pour the cucumbers with water that has boiled again and let them stand and steam for another ten minutes.
The last time, pour the water from the cucumbers into the pan again and boil. While the water is boiling, add garlic, salt, honey and vinegar to the jars.
Fill the container with cucumbers with boiling water and roll up the lids.
After sealing, cans of preserved food should be wrapped in a blanket for four hours.
In winter, we open jars of cucumbers and the first thing we smell is the pleasant aroma of honey combined with garlic. And our cucumbers turned out sweet and sour with a slight spice.
