Rules for preparing blackberries for storage
When the berries are properly prepared, then you can be sure that they will last a long time.
- First, you should sort out the blackberries, because insects, leaves, small twigs, etc. can hide in them.
- All fruits with any damage or excess moisture should be discarded.
- Then, dry the blackberries by spreading them on paper in one layer. This will take several hours.
Everything must be done extremely carefully, because burst specimens cannot be stored for long (only 24 hours).
We must also not forget that:
- It is necessary to wash blackberries only before you plan to eat them, otherwise they will release a lot of juice;
- well, if it is possible not to save the berries in deep containers, it is better to place them in one layer;
- Blackberries will last longer if the bottom of the container is lined with paper towels, which will absorb excess juice.

How to store blackberries for the winter
In a refrigerator
Fresh blackberries, stored at room temperature, may only be suitable for consumption for a few hours.
Shelf life of blackberries in a refrigeration device:
- berries in the refrigerator can remain fresh for up to 4 days if they are poured in 1-2 layers into a food container with low sides, with paper towels at the bottom;
- within one week, the blackberries will be suitable for consumption if you take into account the previous wishes and place them in a compartment with zero temperature;
- blackberries can last up to 9 months in the refrigerator ground with sugar (proportion: 1:2) in sterile jars under a nylon lid; under tin the period will increase to 12 months.

Modern freezers have an excellent feature that allows you to quickly freeze certain foods. Thanks to this, it is possible to preserve the maximum of vitamin elements for a long time. It is also very convenient to do with blackberries. To do this, it must be prepared accordingly (sorted, dried, laid out in one layer) and then packaged in special bags or plastic trays.
If you freeze them “quickly,” the fruits will not be glued to each other, so later it will be possible to pour out the required amount to prepare a particular dessert dish. Dry or dried

Dry blackberries must be stored in a dark room with dry air (kitchen cabinet, pantry) at a temperature of +25 ° C (not higher).
The berries are dried accordingly. Before storing (only in the refrigerator), such blackberries must be placed in a dry jar that is tightly closed with a lid. The shelf life of the dried product is 3-4 months.
