How to store pistachios at home
Pistachios are not only delicious nuts, but also very healthy. Therefore, everyone wants to have such a valuable product at hand. It must be remembered that only under the right storage conditions will they be useful and suitable for use for a long time.
There are very few rules for storing pistachios, but they are all very important. None of them should be neglected.
A more reliable way to save pistachios is to store nuts with shells. Although it opens a little over time, the main part of the product is protected and all the useful elements are preserved in it.
Storing pistachios in salted form will not affect their shelf life in any way, but the taste of such nuts will change for the worse over time.
To enjoy the taste of pistachios for a long time, you should:
- keep them away from a heat source;
- provide the product in a dark place for the storage period;
- protect the nuts from moisture penetrating into them (a plastic bag or a sealed glass jar will help with this).
The longest shelf life is for nuts that have no black dots on their shells and whose kernels are evenly colored.

Unshelled pistachios are suitable for consumption for 3 months, regardless of storage location. Unpeeled kernels, if all conditions are met, can be stored for six months.
You can also use the freezer to store pistachios. In such conditions, the nuts will remain in suitable condition for a whole year.
