The wrinkled fruit of maclura is valued for its unique property of stimulating the restoration of damaged tissues and for its anti-sclerotic and anti-carcinogenic effects. It is also a good antioxidant. Adam's apple cannot be eaten, but traditional medicine very often uses it as the main ingredient in its recipes.

Proper storage of fresh maclura

Only fresh Adam's apple is suitable for preparing medicinal products. It can be stored in the refrigerator for six months. But it should be remembered that the shelf life of a fresh Adam’s apple depends on when the crop was harvested and the conditions under which the exotic fruit was transported.

It often happens that the maclura in the refrigerator quickly acquires a black tint and becomes unsuitable for preparing the drug. This is why it is advisable not to leave it for storage even in a cold place, but should definitely be used for preparing medicinal tinctures, ointments and rubs.

Conditions and periods of storage of folk medicines from maclura

As is already known, inedible exotic fruits are not suitable for storage for a long time. After purchasing an Adam's apple, you must immediately begin processing it.

The prepared tincture should be stored in a dark, hermetically sealed container, and in a place where the temperature is always cold. When exposed to light and heat, the drug can quickly become unusable. If all necessary storage conditions are met, the tincture can be used for medicinal purposes for 6 to 8 months.

It is not advisable to make a lot of ointment from the original fruit at one time. Due to the fact that the maximum therapeutic effectiveness in a medicinal product is preserved only in freshly prepared form.
