How to store pollen at home
Bee pollen in its fresh state cannot be consumed for a long time. To prevent it from spoiling, it is dried or canned.
Usually, only beekeepers process bee pollen at home, and everyone else buys this product ready for storage. Therefore, you should remember a few rules that will help you use this valuable folk remedy for treatment as long as possible.
Having created suitable conditions, you don’t have to worry about the quality of pollen for long. The dried product should be placed in a dry place with a temperature of +20 °C. For canned pollen, you need to find a room with a thermometer reading no higher than +14 °C.
Dried pollen, packed in an airtight container, can be stored for 1 year, and canned pollen for 2 years. But it is worth considering that over time it will gradually lose its healing qualities, so it is better to use it within a year.
It is important to know that well-dried pollen has a crumbly structure and does not stick together.

There is a way to extend the shelf life of the product up to 5 years. To do this, dry pollen must be combined with honey in a 1:2 ratio. Such a medicinal product can be stored without loss of healing qualities even under room conditions.
