What is the best way to store dumplings?
There is probably no person who doesn’t like dumplings. But not every one of them knows how to properly store this dish.
Most people, without hesitation, put the dumplings in the freezer. But they cannot stand there forever. In addition, homemade and store-bought products should be stored differently.

Proper storage of homemade dumplings
If you do not plan to cook this dish after “sculpting”, then it must be placed in the freezer. It is very good if the chamber has a shock freezing function (from -12 °C to -18 °C). Then the dumplings will be good for 3 months. For 1 month, you can eat dumplings that were stored at temperatures from -10 °C to -12 °C. Some housewives store dumplings on the balcony, but this, naturally, happens in winter and only if the thermometer readings fluctuate within acceptable limits for saving them.
It is very convenient to send the product to the freezer in a special box with compartments, but a regular cellophane bag, bulk tray or vacuum packaging will also work.
If it is not possible to store a tasty semi-finished product for a long time and in large quantities, then it is placed in the refrigerator (and stored at a temperature not exceeding +5 ° C) on a cutting board sprinkled with flour or a large flat plate. Cover them on top with a piece of cellophane or cling film.In such conditions, dumplings will be suitable for consumption for 3 days.
Proper storage of store-bought dumplings
At first, it is very important to choose a quality product. “Real” dumplings should not contain soy or semolina. When the package contains glued copies, it cannot be taken. It is very good if you can make sure that the “showcase temperature” is -12 ° C and the humidity is 50%.
In general, the “correct temperature” is considered to be -24 °C and below; in such conditions, the dish can be stored for 9 months. But it’s rare that any store adheres to such conditions. Therefore, having bought dumplings, they should be stored for 1 month at temperatures from -10 °C to -18 °C.
Often on store packaging of a product you can see an expiration date that is more than six months. Such dumplings consist of preservatives and oxidizing agents. Also, usually, a product whose filling is not meat, but soy can be stored for this long.
It is advisable to transport purchased dumplings home in thermal bags, which are sold in frozen food departments.
Proper storage of cooked dumplings
An uneaten portion of dumplings can be stored in a refrigeration device. First, generously grease with vegetable or butter. The plate with the dish must be tightly wrapped in cling film and placed in the refrigerator, the temperature of which should not exceed +5 °C. Under such conditions, the dumplings will remain usable for 6 hours. In a cold place (outside the refrigerator), where the thermometer warms up to +10 °C, the shelf life of the dish will be 3 hours.
It is not recommended to freeze an already cooked product, because it will lose its taste.Housewives who advise storing dumplings in broth are wrong. This is not logical, they will turn into an inedible dish with sticky swollen dough and a generally tasteless soggy filling.
