What is the best way to store baby puree?
Today, many different types of baby purees made from fruits and vegetables and various meats are sold. But there is very little information on how to properly store it.
The moment of saving puree for complementary feeding is extremely important, because the baby should eat only high-quality and in no case spoiled product.
Proper storage of purees for feeding infants
It’s convenient to store babies’ first “adult food”. It is sold in vacuum jars, which allows you to keep it at room temperature during storage. But still, it is advisable to hide the puree from exposure to sunlight. Otherwise it will deteriorate faster. Each jar of puree has an exact range of recommended temperatures that must be adhered to.
Grated vegetables, fruits and meat at home should only be stored in a refrigerator for up to 2 days and no longer. You can extend this period by freezing such baby food. To do this, place the prepared chilled puree in a small container and put it in the freezer.
Proper storage of opened baby puree
It is advisable to consume the opened puree in 1-2 doses (that’s why it is sold in small jars) during the day. You cannot heat baby food directly in store containers. Otherwise, it will no longer be suitable for consumption within a few hours.Under no circumstances should you give your child puree that has been in the refrigerator for more than 24 hours. If it’s too bad to throw it away, then the mother can eat it, but you can’t experiment with a child’s body.
