The shelf life of pancakes depends on the quality of flour, filling, storage conditions, and other things. Therefore, you should know just a few recommendations in order not to throw away the remaining portion of your favorite dish.

Under what conditions is it best to store pancakes?

In order to maximize the shelf life of pancakes, they need to be stored in a place with a low temperature (usually fridge). IN room temperature conditions they will be able to “hold out” and not deteriorate throughout 24 hours. Therefore, you can’t just leave the dish on the kitchen table. If the pancakes are filled, you should try to eat them fresh; they spoil faster (their shelf life is 12 hours).

After cooking, the pancakes must be placed on top of each other, greasing the surface of each with oil. Then, when they have cooled, they should be wrapped in cling film or covered with a cap on the plate with pancakes. This will prevent the edges of the dish from drying out. Only after this can the pancakes be placed in the refrigeration unit. As a last resort, if there is no room in the refrigerator for a plate of pancakes, you can send it to the balcony or to another fairly cool place. Pancakes with thermometer readings from 0-8 °C are suitable for consumption for no more than 2 days.

This dish can be stored in freezer. At temperatures of -18 °C they will be fresh for 1 month. Stuffed pancakes, made on the basis of yeast dough, are best sent to the freezer in a plastic container, and pancakes without filling can simply be wrapped in cling film and placed on a cutting board made of plastic or wood.

How to store store-bought pancakes

Very often pancakes, in the form of semi-finished products, can be found in the store. They are usually sold frozen. If there are no plans for such pancakes in the near future, then they should be immediately sent to the freezer, where they can be good for up to 4 months.

An already thawed product can only be stored in the refrigerator for 3 days. They must be sent to the device in store packaging. If the pancakes were bought by weight, then at home they need to be transferred to a tray with small sides and covered with cling film.
