How to properly store a bouquet so that it looks aesthetically pleasing for as long as possible

In addition, everything depends not only on the care of the flower arrangement, but also on the freshness and type of flowering plants. It is also important to know about some tricks to help keep your bouquet beautiful longer.

Basic rules for storing a bouquet to prolong its life

A composition composed during the cold season requires a more “respectful” attitude. This bouquet needs to be unwrapped and left to sit quietly at room temperature. Only after this can the stems of the flowers be shortened (under running water using a sharp knife) and immersed in a vase of water.

Naturally, the bouquet should not be kept near a heat source or where there is direct sunlight. Also, the bouquet does not like drafts.

Settled, non-cold water is ideal for the composition. It must be changed daily. It’s good if at each shift it is possible to trim the stems (2-3 cm). That is, if their length allows it.

To extend the life of the bouquet, you can add a teaspoon of regular table salt (per 1 liter of liquid) to the water each time you change it. For the same purpose, you can add ammonia.

Spraying the flower arrangement with water daily (several times a day) and removing faded buds will also prolong the aesthetic appearance of the bouquet.

Storing a bouquet of capricious flowers

Among those flowers that require special attention in terms of saving, the rose comes first. In addition to all the procedures that need to be done before storing the bouquet, this flower also needs some important manipulations.

Before sending the queen of flowers into a vase, all its lower leaves and thorns must be removed. In order for the liquid to more easily make its way to the bud of a beautiful plant, the stem from below can be cut, making notches in depth (up to 6 cm upward).

A vase for a bouquet of roses should be shaped so that the flower shoots can be submerged about half in the water. A teaspoon of granulated sugar or an aspirin tablet will help extend the life of a rose flower arrangement.

Therefore, it is customary to give daffodils without any additions; it is only allowed to decorate a bouquet of such flowers with greenery.
