There are several proven options for saving homemade noodles. Each of them is not particularly complex, but not a single nuance can be omitted, since each of them is important.

Rules for storing homemade noodles

Freshly made noodles can be eaten for several days. But it’s convenient to make a large amount of this product and stock it up for later.

Storing noodles indoors

Before sending for storage, the noodles must be dried (this process will take 1 day). In room conditions it will be suitable for 3 months. Under-dried noodles will spoil much faster. We should not forget that it takes a day and a half to dry this pasta, folding thin ribbons into a “nest,” or even longer.

Any convenient, dry, dark place is suitable for storing noodles. The best containers are plastic trays, glass jars and sealed paper or polyethylene bags.

In a refrigeration device

For a period of up to 5 days, homemade noodles can be stored in the refrigerator, in a slightly dried state (dry for only about 40 minutes). To preserve the product, some kind of airtight packaging is perfect.

In the freezer

To put the noodles in the freezer, you will need to dry them for 20 minutes at room temperature. After this, the pasta should be placed on a flat surface and frozen. Then, after the noodles have hardened, they must be placed in an airtight container (the container must be signed, specifying the day of freezing). The product cannot be compacted in this case. The shelf life of frozen homemade noodles depends on the power of the chamber. The lower its temperature, the longer the shelf life (from 3 to 6 months).

Proper storage of already cooked noodles

A boiled product without sauces will be safe to eat for 7 days. The dish must be stored in an airtight container. In the same packaging, cooked noodles, generously seasoned with some oil, can be sent to the freezer, where they can remain in a suitable condition for up to 3 months.

Knowing a few subtleties of noodle storage will help you always have a high-quality homemade product on hand.
