How to properly store baklava after purchasing
Oriental sweets can safely be called an expensive pleasure, especially if you manage to buy a real Turkish delicacy.
Fans of exotic sweet products should know: is it possible and under what conditions is it best to store baklava?
The sweet delicacy is known to be a cake soaked in butter and honey or syrup. It is not advisable to store baklava for a long time (more than 15 days). Here we are talking not so much about harm to human health, but about the fact that after just a few hours the product becomes hard and not as tasty as fresh. Baklava is best enjoyed immediately after preparation.
There are types of baklava that can be stored for up to 2 months. Saving it in the refrigerator or in another cool place where the sun's rays do not reach. It is important that the packaging for the sweets is airtight. The optimal temperature for storing baklava is 18 °C and air humidity is no more than 75 percent.
During transportation, in the absence of an airtight container, the oriental sweetness can be placed in a cardboard box covered with a parchment sheet. It is not advisable to fold baklava in layers. It will stick together in a large piece and lose its presentable appearance.
