Experienced beekeepers are sure that there is nothing complicated in the process of storing beeswax at home, the only thing is to follow all the necessary recommendations.

How to store beeswax so it retains its benefits

A natural product, which has also been processed in accordance with all requirements, does not have a limited shelf life. For many years it does not dry out, does not absorb moisture, does not oxidize and does not lose its aroma. But experienced beekeepers recommend using wax for one purpose or another during the first 2–3 years after receiving it. Due to the fact that after this period the beekeeping product becomes less useful.

See the video: “Remelting beeswax over a fire” (this is an important point in obtaining a quality product that, naturally, will be stored for a long time):

The appearance of a white coating on wax stored at home should not be alarming. This is not evidence of corruption. This formation can be easily removed. To do this, you need to expose the wax to the sun.

Conditions for high-quality storage of beeswax

In order to protect not only the external data of the product, but also its beneficial properties, structure, aroma, as well as shade, it is necessary to place it in a sterile glass jar, which can be hermetically sealed (this will not allow air to pass inside). The container size must be appropriate. The best place to store the jar is considered to be a dark room that is protected from direct sunlight and has a moderate level of humidity.

Such conditions will make it possible to preserve wax raw materials in a high-quality condition without losing the valuable properties of the product over a fairly long period.
