How to properly store a pie so that it doesn’t spoil ahead of time
Pies are among those dishes that are not recommended to be stored for a long period of time. Since such baked goods, when left standing, lose their taste.
But still, it’s not always possible to eat a whole pie in one sitting, then you need to know a few important nuances that will help maintain its suitability for a certain period.
Immediately after cooking, the pie is usually on the kitchen counter, but after 12 hours it should be put in the refrigerator. To do this, place it in a deep container and wrap it tightly with cling film. In such conditions it will remain suitable for 3 days.
It is known that the dough can be stored for a long time, but in these baked goods there is always a filling in addition to it, which contributes to the rapid souring of the product. Therefore, it is important to emphasize here that pies with minced meat or fish should preferably be consumed within 1 day. The shelf life is also affected by whether the product is closed or opened. Covered pies can be stored a little longer (for 1 day).
An uneaten pie can also be placed in the freezer, wrapped in parchment paper, for a maximum of one and a half months. But after defrosting, it will significantly lose its taste.
That's why nothing tastes better than a freshly baked pie with your favorite hot or cold drink.
