How to properly store syrup
Housewives often use various syrups for confectionery purposes, prepared independently or purchased in a store.
Thanks to some production secrets and the addition of preservatives, purchased syrups last much longer than homemade ones.
Cooking handmade syrup, you should remember that if it contains more than 65% granulated sugar, it will sugar up and become hard, and when it contains less than 60%, it will sour faster. If prepared correctly, it can be used for a period of time. 1-2 months.
Store-bought syrups, to which preservatives are usually added, can be stored for up to six months, or even longer. It all depends on the type of syrups. Eg, maple syrup – it is the leader among all in terms of demand; it can be stored for 3 years. Regular sugar syrup will be suitable for consumption at room temperature within 3 weeks, and under the conditions of a refrigeration device six months. If the syrup is pasteurized and poured into bottles while hot, it will not spoil 4 months.
The best container for storing syrup is considered airtight glass jar or bottle. You cannot leave an open purchased product in the same container; the substance must be poured into any convenient container that closes tightly (a plastic one is possible, but not advisable). You can leave it in the kitchen or put it in the refrigerator. The only main thing is that it is dark in the place where it is stored. Freeze syrups Not recommended.
