That is, the cooked aromatic mixture does not need to be sprinkled with powder, granulated sugar or left to dry, but can be immediately poured into a clean glass container like jam and sealed. This method is good to use when you plan to store the product for a long time.

How to choose candied fruits so they last longer

When buying candied fruits in a store, you need to take this process responsibly, because the quality affects the shelf life of the product. Candied fruits should not be wet (moisture should not be released when lightly pressed), but overdried and hard fruits are also not suitable. Another thing to be wary of is the fact that the packaging indicates a shelf life of more than 1 year. Such candied fruits are most likely unnatural. It is correct when each slice is not heavily sprinkled with sugar and is not glued together. The rich, bright (not natural) color of candied fruits may indicate that dyes have been added to the product.

Storing candied fruits in the freezer

Many housewives believe that the best place to store candied fruits is the freezer. In such conditions, it is possible to completely preserve the taste and beneficial qualities, as well as the aroma.

To store in this way, candied fruits should be distributed in special vacuum plastic or zip bags and sent to the freezer. Defrosting candied fruits is not at all difficult, you just have to leave them for 6-8 hours on the refrigerator shelf in the same container in which they were in the freezer.
