Date jam - a classic recipe

Wash the dates under cold running water. In good and properly dried dates, the pit comes off easily. Although the pulp is soft, it is not candied and does not spread, so there will be no problems with cleaning.

For 1 kg of peeled dates you need:

  • 1 liter of water;
  • 400 gr. Sahara.

Although dates are sweet on their own, sugar is needed as a stabilizer and thickener.

Make syrup from water and sugar. When the sugar is completely dissolved, add dates to the syrup and cook the jam until the desired thickness. On average, date jam is boiled for 20 to 45 minutes.

Place the prepared jam into jars and cool. Since dates are available all year round, jam from them should not be prepared for future use.Store the jars in the refrigerator so that you always have tasty and healthy medicine at hand.

Dates are incredibly healthy, and there are a lot of recipes for making jam from them. If the date pit is easily removed, you can stuff the fruit with nuts and boil it in syrup, as in the previous recipe.

In addition to the fact that dates are healthy, they are also high in calories and you shouldn’t eat a lot of jam, especially for people with diabetes or some gastrointestinal problems. What to do if you really want dates? Prepare date jam with pears and apples.

Date jam with pears and apples
