The recipe is interesting because in addition to red currant berries, you will also need black currant or raspberry juice. But don't be scared right away. The syrup is easy to prepare, although the recipe requires four days of aging.

Ingredients needed for preparation: 1 kg of red currants, 60 ml of black currant juice (raspberries can be used), 800 g of sugar.

How to make redcurrant syrup.

Cooking the syrup begins as usual.

Wash the berries separated from the bunch. Mash with a blender or grind with a pestle.

Add 100g sugar and set aside for 4 days.

Then, placing it in a flannel, or better yet, linen bag to remove the juice. It is better to hang the bag, as the juice flows by gravity.

Add blackcurrant juice to the red currant juice and add the rest of the sugar.

Boil. Pour over banks. Cork. Turn the jars over.

After complete cooling, hide in the basement.

Delicious syrup from red currant more concentrated than juice. It is consumed in winter, diluted with water, as an additive to various cocktails, desserts, and sauces. Can be used as a natural dye.
