How to dry mushrooms at home in an electric dryer (with photo).
Drying is one of the oldest and most natural methods of storing mushrooms. This method was used many years ago, but it has not lost its relevance today. Of course, we no longer lay mushrooms in the sun, as our grandmothers did. Now we have a wonderful assistant - an electric dryer.
With its help, you can cope with the task in just a day. Another plus is that the mushrooms do not darken, do not wrinkle, and remain snow-white.
The only ingredient needed to dry mushrooms for the winter is fresh, clean, healthy mushrooms. In our case, these are white ones, but others are also suitable - aspen mushrooms, boletus mushrooms, honey mushrooms...
How to dry mushrooms for the winter.
Everything here is extremely simple. It is necessary to thoroughly clean the mushrooms from twigs, debris, pine needles and soil. Contaminated areas can be cut off with a knife. Do not wash with water, it is better to wipe with a damp sponge.
Then, cut our boletus into plates 5 mm thick. Place them on plastic racks in an electric dryer.
Turn on maximum power for a few hours. Swap the lower and upper grilles.
After 1-2 hours, reduce the power and dry the mushrooms. They, in the process of drying, decrease in size.
Therefore, after a certain time, you can pour them all together onto the top shelf for drying, and cut a fresh portion onto the rest.
I use three ways to store dried mushrooms: in a tightly closed dry glass jar, in a linen bag, or in a box in the freezer. The third method is necessary if moths easily appear in the house and it is impossible to protect dry mushrooms from them in any other way.
