To make jam, stock up on:

oranges – 1 kg;

sugar – 1.2 kg;

water – 2 cups or 500 ml.

How to cook.

Wash the citrus fruits in the skin thoroughly with soap, pierce them in several places with an awl, needle or toothpick, and blanch in boiling water for 15 minutes.

Leave to cool for 12 hours.

Afterwards, you need to cut the oranges into circles or slices (as you like) and remove the grains.

Now, let's prepare a syrup from 900 grams of sugar and 500 ml of water.

Pour boiling water over the fruits and let it brew for 8 hours.

Afterwards, drain the syrup, adding 300 grams of sugar to it, boil it, and pour the hot orange slices again.

And again set aside for 8 hours. Then, drain the syrup again, boil it, not forgetting to skim off the foam, and pour this syrup into the slices for the third time, allowing it to sit for 8 hours to soak in as it cools.

When the oranges are infused in the syrup three times, boil them until tender over low heat.

That's all, distribute the hot jam into sterilized dry jars, do not forget to seal the lids and let it cool for a day.

Store orange jam in a cool place for 12 months. Used to boost immunity and relieve fever during illness in winter. But that is if you can protect it from home tea drinkers and home bakers who simply and easily use orange slices to decorate their culinary creations.
