How to freeze yogurt - making homemade yogurt ice cream
Yogurt, like most dairy products, freezes well. So, if you want to get soft yogurt ice cream, then you have a huge selection of ready-made store-bought yogurts, or your homemade one, prepared with your own hands.
If you want to freeze ready-made store-bought yogurt, do not look for the presence of live bacteria. In this case, this is absolutely unimportant, because at a temperature of -18°C any bacteria will die. Look at the thickener that was used to make the yogurt. If the composition contains gelatin, then put this yogurt on the shelf and look for another. Store-bought frozen yogurt is very tasty, but the consistency is a little denser than regular ice cream, and it contains a lot of ice, since dairy products separate somewhat when frozen.
You can take creamy yogurt and add fruit to it yourself. Any soft fruit, such as bananas, strawberries, or kiwi, is suitable for homemade frozen yogurt. Beat the fruits in a blender, you can add honey, lemon, chocolate chips, condensed milk and the main ingredient - creamy yogurt.
Pour the yogurt into molds (cups) and place in the freezer. Yogurt freezes for a long time, and to avoid large ice crystals in it, you need to beat the freezing dessert with a blender or mixer until the mass becomes like ice cream. After this, you can insert sticks into the cups and leave until completely frozen.
To remove the “ice cream” from the mold, dip it in a bowl of warm water for a couple of minutes, and it will easily pop out on its own.
