How to pickle dill for the winter in jars

Autumn comes and the question arises: “How to preserve dill for the winter?” After all, juicy and fresh greens from the garden beds will soon disappear, but you can’t run to the supermarket, and not everyone has supermarkets “at hand”. 😉 Therefore, I offer my proven recipe for preparing salted dill for the winter.

How to pickle dill at home.

Dill

Separate the young sprigs of dill, rinse and dry them on a clean rag, towel or sieve. Using a knife, cut into pieces of the size you are used to.

Then, put everything in a bowl, add salt and stir.

For 1 kg of dill we take 200 or 250 grams of salt.

Place the salted dill in jars and press the top with a wooden pestle or spoon until the juice appears.

Add a little sunflower oil to the top of the filled jars.

It happens that dill becomes “overgrown” with mold, and to prevent this process, ground black pepper is added to jars with salted dill along with salt. For this purpose, 1 kg of dill requires 1 teaspoon of pepper.

Such pickled dill can only be stored for a long time in a cool cellar, or even better - in the refrigerator.
