Cold jam prepared without cooking is an excellent way to preserve all the beneficial properties of the products included in it.
In my recipe, I suggest that cooks use these three healthy ingredients to prepare a very tasty and healthy raw cranberry jam with ginger and honey. I hope that the step-by-step photos taken will help you in preparing such a useful preparation.
Ingredients:
- Cranberries – 500 gr;
- Bee honey – 600 gr;
- Ginger root – 70 gr.
To make vitamin-rich raw jam, cranberries can be used either freshly picked or frozen.
For bee honey, it is better to take sunflower or rapeseed honey; usually this honey crystallizes evenly and does not have a pronounced aroma, such as flower or buckwheat honey.
Well, the ginger root, the main thing is that it is fresh, not damaged or dried out.
How to make cranberry jam without cooking with honey
And so, first we need to pour the cranberries in small portions onto a cutting board and sort out any spoiled or bruised berries.
Then, place the sorted cranberries in a colander and wash under running cool water.
After this, dry the berries on a paper towel.
Peel the ginger root. You can thinly peel the skin not only with a sharp knife, but also with a vegetable peeler.
For this recipe, you can simply grate the ginger root, but I, for example, like small pieces of ginger to be felt in the jam. Try cutting the ginger into thin slices, chop the slices into long sticks, chop the sticks into small cubes (like onions for frying).
Grind the cranberries using a blender.
Place the honey, cranberry puree and chopped ginger in a deep bowl and mix well.
Honey usually does not completely dissolve the first time, so I advise you to leave the raw jam in a warm place for two to three hours and then vigorously mix the ingredients again.
As a result, we got this homogeneous in consistency, beautiful, tasty and vitamin-packed raw cranberry jam with ginger and honey.
When the workpiece stands for a while, it thickens slightly and becomes like jelly.
Pack cranberry jam into sterile jars, cover with nylon lids and put in the refrigerator for storage.
You can store raw cranberry jam with honey for no more than six months. On cold winter evenings, offer your household cranberries with ginger and honey for tea and be healthy!
