Ginger root compote with lemon - 2 recipes: delicious ginger drink for weight loss
When dieting, ginger compote has proven itself very well for weight loss. There is no point in preparing it for future use, since it can be prepared from either fresh ginger root or dried ginger. To slightly diversify the taste of compote and enrich it with vitamins, apples, lemons, and rose hips are usually added to ginger.
Compote must be cooked with sugar. Sugar reveals the taste, but if it is a compote for weight loss or treatment, then you can replace the sugar with honey.
Ginger compote with lemon and rose hips
For 3 liters of water:
- 1 ginger root;
- 2 lemons (whole);
- 1 glass of sugar (more is possible);
- A handful of rose hips.
Peel the ginger root and chop it finely. You can grate it on a coarse grater.
Boil water with sugar in a saucepan and add ginger root to the boiling water. Turn the heat down so the water is barely simmering and start working on the lemons.
Wash the lemons with hot water and cut them into rings.
The ginger should be cooked for 5-7 minutes and if the time has come, you can add lemons and rose hips to the compote. Wait for the compote to boil, note 3 minutes, and remove the pan from the stove.
Cover the pan with compote with a lid and leave it to steep for at least 2 hours.
That's all, the compote is ready.
Ginger compote with honey and cinnamon
- 1 ginger root;
- Apples 3 pcs;
- Water 3 liters;
- Honey 250 gr;
- Lemon 1 piece;
- Cinnamon 1 stick.
Peel the ginger and cut it into very thin rings.
Apples need to be peeled, cored and cut into small pieces.
Place apples and cinnamon in a saucepan, add honey and water and bring to a boil.
After 5 minutes, add freshly squeezed lemon juice and a cinnamon stick.
Remove the pan from the heat, cover with a lid and let the ginger compote brew for an hour.
