Red rowan compote will add pleasant variety to your winter preparations. It has a delicate smell and a tempting, slightly astringent taste.

To prepare this wonderful compote we need red rowan "Nevezhinsky". We choose this variety because its berries are less tart.

How to cook rowan compote for the winter at home.

Sort the berries, separate from the stems and wash in water.

Place in jars, fill with apple juice or sugar syrup, adding a small amount of lemon. For sugar syrup, take water - 1 liter; sugar – 1.5 faceted glasses, lemon – 1 teaspoon. If you decide to use apple juice instead of syrup, then you don’t have to add sugar at all or use it according to your taste.

Cover the rowan preparations with lids and heat them in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Or we heat 0.5 liter dishes to 80-90 degrees - 10 minutes, 1 liter dishes - 15 minutes.

Seal the lids with a key.

Wrap the workpieces, turning the jars upside down.

This rowan compote can be stored for about a year. For storage, it is better to choose rooms with a lower temperature than in the rooms. This could be a basement, pantry, cellar, crawl space, or any other options you have.
