Lecho - homemade recipe for winter, pepper and tomato lecho, with photo
Before moving on to the description of the recipe for this preparation for the winter, I would like to note that lecho belongs to the dishes of classical Hungarian cuisine and over time has spread throughout the world. Today lecho is prepared both in Bulgarian and Moldavian, but here we will give the classic recipe: with peppers and tomatoes.
To prepare lecho for the winter according to this recipe we will need:
bell pepper - 5 kg;
tomatoes - 4 kg;
sugar - 1 glass;
salt - 2 tablespoons;
vegetable oil - 1 cup.
How to make lecho at home:
Wash the tomatoes and pass them through a meat grinder or, even easier, grind them with an immersion blender.
Place the tomato mass in a large saucepan and put on fire.
Add salt, sugar and vegetable oil to the tomato, mix and bring to a boil.
Wash the sweet bell pepper, separate it from the seed pod and cut it lengthwise into thin slices, into 8-12 pieces.
When our tomato boils, add the sweet pepper cut into strips.
Bring to a boil over high heat.
During this time it needs to be stirred 2-3 times.
After half an hour of gentle boiling, place the lecho in pre-prepared jars, cover with lids and tighten.
After twisting it, turn it over onto the lid, “wrap it up” and leave it until it cools completely.
