For lovers of unusual and useful preparations, I offer a rather simple and at the same time original recipe for homemade rowan berries. We will pickle berries, which decorate the streets of our cities in large quantities. We will talk about red-fruited rowan or red rowan.
You can take berries from trees growing everywhere. But choose places where there are fewer cars. True, the preparation from the berries of the cultivated tree will turn out tastier. Unfortunately, you don’t often see them in our gardens. But this is not important. So let's get to the point of the recipe.
How to pickle rowan berries at home.
Let's subject the fruits to the usual procedure. Let's wash and remove the branches.
Throw the rowan into boiling water. After a minute we take out the other one. fill the jars with berries.
In the meantime, let's do a simple thing - prepare the filling. Water, sugar - 1 liter and 1.5 kg, respectively. Heat the filling and let it simmer for a couple of minutes. Before turning off, add another 25 ml of 9% vinegar or 45 ml of 5%.
But there is no marinade without spices. The necessary spices for rowan are: allspice, cloves and cinnamon. We just put them in jars.
Add rowan berries and spices with our hot sauce.
All that remains is pasteurization of the workpieces at 85 degrees. 20 minutes - ½ liter, 25 - 1 liter. Roll it under the lid.
