Pickled beets with plums for the winter - a recipe for delicious pickled beets.
I propose to prepare my favorite recipe for a delicious marinated plum and beet preparation. The two main components of the workpiece complement each other very well. Plum gives beets a pleasant aroma and due to the natural acid contained in this fruit, there is no need to add vinegar to this preparation.
And so, to prepare the marinade for beets and plums we need:
– 1 liter of water;
– 100 grams of sugar;
– 20 grams of salt.
How to pickle beets and plums for the winter.
For the recipe, select small beets, dark burgundy in color, and boil them until tender.
Ready-boiled root vegetables need to be peeled and chopped into small slices or circles.
Plums (preferably hard and sour) must be blanched in boiling water for 3 minutes.
Next, place beet and plum slices (slices) in jars in layers, alternating. Then, you can add various spices: rosea radiola root, lemongrass leaves or berries and cloves. You can decide for yourself which spices to choose and their quantity, depending on your taste preferences.
After this, we need to fill our workpiece with hot brine and seal it with lids.
Instead of plums, you can add apple slices to the beets, too, first blanched for 5 minutes in boiling water. I sometimes add both fruits.Such variety makes the taste of the marinated preparation more interesting.
In winter, delicious and aromatic pickled plums with beets make an excellent addition to salads. Or you can sprinkle marinades with a little olive oil and serve them with main courses.
