Marinate tomatoes in halves with onions, vegetable oil and carrots
I would like to offer a simple, but at the same time very tasty recipe for an unusual tomato preparation for the winter. Today I will preserve tomatoes in halves with onions and vegetable oil. My family simply loves them and I have been preparing them for three years now.

Tomatoes marinated in halves do not fall apart, they taste like dried tomatoes, and onions, garlic and carrots can be used as a side dish for meat or fish. The step-by-step photo recipe will be useful to you when you decide to make such a preparation for the winter.
For 10 liters you will need:
- tomatoes - about 5 kg, it is better to take medium, like cream, but this time there was none and I took simple ones, the taste did not suffer from this;
- carrots - 1 kg, for carrot lovers you can take more, it turns out very juicy and tasty;
- onion - 4 medium;
- vegetable oil - 20 tablespoons;
- garlic - 20 cloves;
- mixture of peppers - to taste.
For the marinade:
- 3.5 liters of water;
- 300 ml 9% vinegar;
- 5 tablespoons of salt;
- 500 g sugar;
- peppercorns;
- Bay leaf.
How to can tomatoes in halves
First, let's prepare the tomatoes. They need to be washed and cut into halves. You can cut out the “butts”, but this is at your discretion.
Wash the carrots, peel them and grate them on a coarse grater.Cut the onion into half rings. Peel the garlic.
Prepare jars, I wash them with soda, rinse them with running water.
Place carrots, onions, two cloves of garlic, 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, and a mixture of peppers at the bottom of the jar.
Fill with tomato halves, cut side down.
Let's prepare the marinade. Pour water, salt, sugar, pepper, bay leaf into a large saucepan, stir and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add vinegar.
Pour the hot marinade over the tomatoes and cover with lids.
We sterilize jars for about 10-15 minutes.
After twisting, turn the workpiece over and wrap it in a blanket until it cools completely.
