Ginger marmalade: a recipe for making delicious ginger marmalade with lemon and honey on gelatin
Ginger rightfully occupies one of the first places among the most powerful medicines in folk medicine. It also found a place in cooking, and this combination of medicinal properties and exquisite taste turns an ordinary dessert into a healthy dessert.
Ginger marmalade can be medicinal if you choose the right ingredients. After all, what is included in ginger marmalade? Ginger itself, lemon, water, gelatin and sugar. The only doubt is sugar, but it can be replaced with honey, right?
To make ginger marmalade truly tasty and healthy, you must maintain the correct ratio of products.
- Ginger root. There should be 2 teaspoons of dry or fresh grated root;
- Lemon - 1 piece;
- Sugar or honey - 250 g;
- Water - 550 g;
- Gelatin - 40 g.
Wash the ginger root, peel it and grate it on a fine grater.
Grate the zest from the lemon.
Make syrup from sugar, water and lemon juice.
Leave a little water to dilute the gelatin. After all, the total amount of water should be exactly 550 grams.
Add grated ginger and lemon zest to the boiling syrup. Boil for 20 minutes over low heat.
Strain the hot syrup through a sieve.
Add gelatin to the syrup and bring to a boil again and immediately remove the pan from the heat.
Cover a baking sheet with cling film and pour the warm marmalade mixture into it.
Place the marmalade in the refrigerator to harden.
When the marmalade has hardened, remove it from the pan and cut into small pieces.
Roll each piece in powdered sugar and serve.
You can use coconut flakes or grated nuts as a topping, it all depends on your taste and imagination.
