Delicious homemade marmalade made from berries and lemons
Today I will make a very aromatic and delicious homemade marmalade from berries and lemons. Many sweet lovers prefer sweet preparations to have a slight sourness and my family is no exception. With lemon juice, ascorbic acid gets into homemade marmalade, and the zest gives it a refined bitterness.
In addition, lemon promotes good thickening of the workpiece, to such an extent that it becomes like thick marmalade. Hence the name. 🙂 I am happy to share a step-by-step recipe with photos, which will give anyone the opportunity to make homemade marmalade from berries and lemons on their own at home.
Ingredients:
- any berries that are available in the garden: raspberries, currants, blackberries, serviceberries, blueberries, blueberries – 500 g;
- sugar – 500 gr;
- lemon (juice, zest) – 2 pcs.
How to make homemade berry and lemon marmalade
I start making the preparation by preparing all the necessary products: clean all the berries from stems and debris, rinse and dry. Wash the lemons and weigh out 500 grams of sugar.
Grate the lemons on a coarse grater: prepare the zest.
Squeeze lemon juice.
Pour some of the sugar into the pan, then the berries, then sugar and berries again.
Pour in lemon juice and add zest.
Mix everything and put on fire.
Stirring constantly, bring to a boil and cook for 40 minutes, constantly skimming off the foam.
Banks sterilize. Distribute the finished marmalade into sterile hot jars and roll up.
The result was a rather thick, marmalade-like mixture. Once chilled, it is so dense that it holds a spoon.
In winter, homemade marmalade made from berries and lemons can be used as a filling for pies, pies and cheesecakes. Add it to yoghurt, cottage cheese or porridge. Bon appetit!
