Onions and lettuce peppers, two vegetables that complement each other perfectly in various preservation recipes. I suggest housewives prepare, using this simple homemade recipe, a delicious pickled appetizer from small onions, which we will stuff with sweet peppers.

Products for a delicious winter snack of onions and peppers:

— onions (small onions) – 0.5 kg;

— lettuce pepper (preferably red, but green will also work) – 2 pcs.;

- table vinegar - one glass;

- salt - taken to taste.

Bulb onions

We start preparing our homemade pickled appetizer by preparing the vegetables: peel the onion, remove the seeds from the lettuce pepper and chop it into longitudinal strips.

Next, the prepared vegetables need to be boiled in salted water for five minutes and then subjected to sudden cooling.

Then, you need to cut out the centers of the bulbs, and we will fill the resulting space with chopped pepper strips.

Now add table vinegar to the water remaining after blanching the vegetables and bring the marinade to a boil.

Then pour the boiling marinade mixture over the stuffed vegetables.

Cover the dish with our preparation with a lid and leave the onions in the marinade for 24 hours.

After time has passed, carefully drain the marinade solution and bring it to a boil again.

Before pouring the marinade mixture over the onions again, it needs to be cooled.

And so, we fill our preparation with barely warm marinade and put it in a cool place for a month so that the appetizer gradually reaches a state of readiness.

Small pickled onions stuffed with lettuce peppers look very beautiful on the table. When serving, it would be a good idea to drizzle this appetizer with olive or sunflower oil. Therefore, if you have time, then buy a small onion and, once cooked, appreciate this recipe for pickled onion preparation.
