Making gooseberry jam at home

We wash the berries, remove the stalk and seeds using a hairpin, making a cut. Pour a handful of cherry leaves into cold water; when the mixture boils, pour it over the berries (with the leaves too).

After cooling, put the workpiece in the refrigerator overnight.

In the morning, drain the juice, mix it with sugar and put on fire. When the sugar has dissolved, put the berries (without leaves) into the boiling syrup and cook over low heat for about 15 minutes. The gooseberries should acquire a transparent greenish tint.

A couple of minutes before the end of cooking, add 10 fresh cherry leaves. Then turn it off and package it into prepared jars. This completes the preparation of jam.

This homemade emerald jam from gooseberries perfectly saturates the body with vitamins and minerals and looks beautiful on the table.
