Spicy salted lard in onion peels - a simple recipe for making lard in onion peels.
This recipe will help you pickle delicious, spicy and aromatic lard yourself. Boiled in onion skins and treated with red pepper and garlic, it will be spicy, surprisingly aromatic and beautiful in color. Using the recipe, you can now always easily and simply prepare a very tasty and original spicy snack.
All you need for pickling:
salo;
water – 2.5 l;
salt – 1 glass;
onion peel - a handful;
red pepper;
garlic.
How to cook lard in onion skins.
Fill the pan with water, dissolve table salt in it, add onion peels and cook for ten minutes.
Place a washed piece of lard into the resulting broth and boil for 10-20 minutes. The cooking time of the product depends on the amount of lard. Make sure that the entire piece is completely immersed in the brine.
Refrigerate the lard in the marinade for 24 hours.
When the specified time has passed, you need to remove the boiled lard from the brine with onion skins and wait for the water to drain. After drying the piece with a napkin, carefully coat it with chopped garlic and sprinkle with red pepper.
Wrap in parchment paper to preserve the flavor during storage.
It is better to store such salted lard, boiled in onion skins, in the freezer or simply in the refrigerator for exactly 7 days. After this time, you can start tasting it and use it as an appetizer for borscht, with black bread... or whatever you like.
