Spicy cherry plum sauce for the winter: an easy homemade recipe with garlic and tomatoes.
With the beginning of summer, fragrant and beautiful cherry plum appears. We suggest preparing a spicy cherry plum sauce with tomatoes and garlic for the winter. The taste of cherry plum sauce is rich and piquant.
Making cherry plum sauce according to this homemade recipe requires:
- cherry plum 500 grams;
- tomatoes 500 grams;
- garlic 250 grams;
- herbs and salt to taste (I use cilantro and dill).
We will describe how to prepare the sauce for the winter step by step.
Let's prepare puree from cherry plums and tomatoes. You can use red, yellow, and green cherry plums in this recipe. For grinding I use a blender or meat grinder. Let's put our puree on the stove. Cook until it is reduced by half.
Grind the garlic, it’s better to chop it finely and add herbs and salt.
Let's prepare the jars. They need to be washed and sterilized very well, otherwise your entire stock may not last until winter. Place the lids in a small saucepan and also boil. One of the main conditions for success in preparing for the winter is the cleanliness of jars and lids.
When our dressing simmers over low heat for 15-20 minutes, put it in jars to the very top so that there is almost no air left and roll up the lids.
We place the jars with their lids upside down and cover them with something warm and thick so that they are sterilized in this way. Leave it like this for three/four hours.
It is better to store in the cellar.
This spicy cherry plum sauce is good for meat, for pizza, and like adjika for pasta or rice, it will be very tasty if you spread this spicy sauce on freshly baked bread. We enjoy it ourselves and surprise our winter guests with a very tasty cherry plum sauce and remember the summer.
