Orange marshmallow - homemade
You can’t eat too many oranges and lemons at once, but vitamin C is very useful, especially in winter. And it happens that I bought oranges, but they are no good, they just don’t taste good. It’s a shame to throw it away, but I don’t want to eat it. I bring to your attention how to make orange marshmallow.
Ideally, you would add as many lemons as oranges to this recipe, but this is not necessary. Use the fruits you have.
Wash the oranges and lemons and dry them with a towel. Cut into rings, remove the seeds and grind together with the peel in a blender in different vessels.
Add sugar and lemon if desired.
Now you should boil the resulting mush a little. From the moment of boiling, 10 minutes is enough for the crusts to become soft and the excess acid to disappear.
Remove both pans from the stove and blend again.
Line a baking tray with baking paper and grease it with vegetable oil. Transfer the orange and lemon mixture into separate piping bags, or use regular bags.
Squeeze the orange-lemon mixture into strips onto a baking sheet and smooth it out a little with a spoon.
Turn on the gas oven to +100 degrees, place the baking sheet on the middle shelf and with the door slightly open, dry the marshmallow for 2-4 hours, depending on the thickness of the layer.
Drying marshmallows in an electric dryer takes a little longer, but is safer. There it will definitely not burn and will dry more evenly. To dry marshmallows in the dryer, use medium temperature (Medium mode) for the first 3-4 hours, and low mode (Low) for the next 4 hours.
The finished pastille should look and feel dry and not stick to your hands. Remove the still warm marshmallow from the tray and you can try the resulting treat.
