Healthy dandelion jam with lemon
In the spring, during the season of active flowering of dandelions, do not be lazy and make healthy and tasty jam from them. The preparation comes out extremely aromatic and tasty, and its color resembles fresh, still liquid honey.
In order to start cooking we will need: 200 dandelion flowers, 1 lemon, 750 g of granulated sugar and 500 ml of hot water.
We start making jam by collecting dandelions. Be sure to collect them away from highways. You should also not look for the plant in city parks where dogs walk. It is best to pick flowers by hand, but in such a way that there is no stem left at the bottom.
How to make dandelion jam with lemon
Rinse dandelion flowers in running water and dry on a towel. Place them in a container for making jam and fill with freshly boiled water. Place on the stove and wait until it starts to boil, then note the time and cook for 10 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat and let the contents sit for 20 minutes.
Place the flowers in a colander and place a bowl under it. Collect the liquid in which the dandelions were boiled.
Add sugar to the dark yellow dandelion infusion and let it dissolve. Place the broth with sugar on low heat and simmer for another 5 minutes.
While the broth is boiling, cut the lemon into very thin half rings. If there are bones in it, be sure to remove them.
Place the lemon slices in aromatic dandelion syrup and boil again for about five minutes.
Remove our healthy jam from the stove and let it cool completely.
On the second day, bring the dandelion jam to a boil again and simmer for another 5 minutes.
Pack the hot treat into steam-sterilized jars and seal them with clean, dry lids.
