Preparing melon juice for the winter - simple recipes

Melon has a long shelf life and can be kept fresh for quite a long time, but this is only provided that you have a cool, dark and dry place. If this place is not available, you can use melon to prepare a lot of healthy and tasty preparations for the winter, and melon juice is one of the simplest preparations.

To make juice, you need a ripe and well-ripened melon. Its sweetness does not matter, the main thing is that it is juicy and aromatic enough.

There are two recipes for melon juice, and both are good.

Melon juice in a slow cooker

  • Medium-sized melon, about 2 kg;
  • Water – 0.5 l;
  • Sugar - depending on the sweetness of the melon, but not less than 1 cup;
  • 1 lemon or orange (juice).

Wash the melon, wipe it dry and cut it. Remove the hay, peel and cut into small pieces.

Grind the melon pieces thoroughly with a blender until smooth puree.

Add water, orange or lemon juice and strain the juice through a fine sieve. The juice will have pulp, but you will get rid of small fibers.

Pour melon juice into the multicooker bowl, add sugar and turn on the “Soup” mode for 10-15 minutes.

Pour the hot juice into sterilized jars and your juice is ready.

Pasteurized sugar-free melon juice

  • Melon -2 kg;
  • Lemon – 1 pc.

Experts say that the melon peel contains many useful substances and this should be used.

Cut the washed melon into pieces along with the peel and pass through a juicer or press. This way you will squeeze out the maximum amount of essential oils from the peel and get juice without pulp.

Add lemon juice to the pan and stir well.

Pour the juice into sterilized liter jars and cover them with lids. Place them in a wide-bottomed saucepan. Pour water up to the shoulders of the juice cans and turn on the stove. From the moment the water boils, note 1 hour, after which the jars of juice can be taken out and the lids rolled up with a key.

Melon juice is good on its own, but it is also an excellent base for cooking. melon syrup, or marmalade. In any case, those with a sweet tooth will be pleased.
