This method of making jam will preserve the maximum possible amount of vitamins and other useful organic compounds that are present in this amazing plant and are so necessary for us in winter.
Products for procurement:
- sea buckthorn – 1 kg;
- sugar – 1 kg;
- water – 150 ml.
How to make sea buckthorn jam with seeds
Prepare the preparation products. It is best to select dense and large berries. They should be washed in cold water, drained, and dried.
Pour water into the pan, add sugar. Stirring, bring to a boil and cook the syrup for 10 minutes.
Pour boiling sugar syrup over sea buckthorn berries and set aside for 4 hours.
Then, separate the syrup from the berries in a colander.
Heat the syrup to a temperature of 105 degrees, stirring vigorously.
In other words, bring it to a finished syrup with completely dissolved sugar.
Cool the syrup for 30 minutes, strain, then pour over the berries again.
Place the sea buckthorn jam over medium heat and cook for 10 minutes from the moment it boils.
Banks sterilize in the oven for at least 15 minutes at 100 degrees. Pour hot sea buckthorn jam into hot sterile jars and place in the oven for 10 minutes to sterilize.
It is best to close the jars with sterile glass or metal lids with rubber gaskets.
