The word "grape" is most often associated with wine, grape juice and grape vinegar. Few people remember that this juicy sunny berry can be used to make delicious grape jam or jam.

Using my simple jam recipe, you can make aromatic, beautiful and tasty jelly or jam from grapes. Simply remove the pits and tough skins. I will tell you how to do this quickly, easily and simply in my recipe and illustrate the preparation with step-by-step photos. By the way, you can cook such a preparation from either black, green or pink grapes.

To prepare grape jam for the winter, take:

  • grapes (can be with small berries) – 1.5 kg;
  • granulated sugar – 1-1.5 kg;
  • instant gelatin – 10 g;
  • enamel dishes;
  • sieve or gauze.

Wash and dry the grapes.

Remove the berries from the branches and remove any spoiled ones.

Boil water in an enamel or glass container. Blanch the grapes for two to three minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer them to another bowl.

Do not pour out the water, but add a little sugar, bring to a boil and you will get a delicious compote.

Grind the cooked berries through a sieve or colander. If you don’t have the necessary utensils, you can use several layers of gauze.

Don’t throw the remaining cake in the trash either. You can make it out of it grape vinegar.

Add one and a half kilograms of granulated sugar to the resulting grape juice.

Bring the mixture to a boil over low heat. To prevent foam from forming, stir the jam periodically. Boil at low simmer for 10 minutes and remove from heat.

After the jam has cooled, repeat the heat treatment 2-5 times. The more moisture evaporates, the thicker the grape jam, similar to jam or jelly, will be. But remember that with each heating the aroma of the jam decreases. Therefore, to make the grape jam fragrant and at the same time thick, I boil it 2 times, and before the second heating I add a little instant gelatin to the jam.

Place the boiled grape jam into jars, do not turn the jars over, cover with a warm blanket and leave to cool for a couple of days.
